Candidatei-me online. Fui entrevistado pela Wayfair (Boston, MA) em abr. de 2016
Entrevista
I applied online for the data scientist position within the algorithms unit, and a recruiter contacted me the following day to schedule a phone interview. The interview was a typical behavioral interview. I then had a follow-up call with a member of the team and we discussed my projects and experiences in more detail. After the call, I was asked to send a code sample in any language to show my programming style, after which they invited me onsite for a 4-5 hour in-person interview. It took about 2 weeks from when I applied to get an onsite interview.
The onsite interview comprised of four sessions during which I brainstormed solutions to some data problems that were presented to me, presented a data science project I had worked on in the past (I had been informed about this before the interview, so I had time to prepare), and did some data analysis on a computer for a problem that they were addressing on the team. Before leaving the office, the recruiter met with me again and asked about my salary expectations, start date, and also informed me that I would receive a decision in a couple days.
After the interviews the manager told me they were interviewing other candidates, but I should feel free to contact him if I had any follow up questions. The recruiter emailed me to say everyone had "great" things to say about meeting me, and I would "definitely" get a decision in a week. After a week, I heard nothing and emailed the recruiter to see if a decision had been made - no answer! I waited another week to email the manager to check on my application status - no answer too! Even my jobvite application still says "in process" and it has been well over a month since the interviews. Obviously I'm not holding my breath concerning this job, but I was very irritated that Wayfair did not have the decency to tell me the outcome of my interviews. I felt it was extremely rude of them to totally ignore my email inquiries after we had previously communicated several times by email and phone and I had taken the time to honor their multiple interview requests.

Received the Online Assessment on Hackerrank, including data manipulation & data insights. Data manipulation was on Pandas, not difficult, and data insights were an excel spreadsheet, and drew some insights and recommendations from it.

Technical Interview on SQL and Python. Makes you program a machine learning model and write intermediate SQL commands. Overall, not too difficult, and it takes roughly 75 minutes. I would suggest praticing on Hackerrank

Very average interview where the questions were ambiguous. It was very ambiguity. And not clear on the requirement. So in short not difficult. Hard to say if anyone should interview for this company
