      Entrevista

      The interview consisted of two parts: a 30-minute Technical Written Test, and a 45-minute face-to-face interview with three panel members. The technical test consisted of 20 questions related to CCTV, use of video editing software, an understanding of file types/properties, acronyms and definitions, and basic knowledge of underpinning legislation. The interview began with an "icebreaker" question wherein I was asked to tell the panel about myself/my background and why I have applied for the position. The bulk of the interview consisted of answering questions directly related to the 'Competency and Values Framework' (available from the College of Policing website). In total, there are six main competencies detailed within the framework. I was asked questions related to four of these six competencies, but there is no way to know in advance which four competencies will be sought. Consequently, I had prepared an answer for all six competencies. I recall that all of the questions started with, "Please tell us about a time/occasion. . ." and therefore constituted a situational/scenario-based interview. I utilised the STAR-L Method to craft my answers in a way that each answer provided clear evidence of each of the behaviours listed in Level 1 of each competency. At the end of the interview, I was invited to ask questions; I had three which I had prepared in advance.
