I replied based on the salary research for the area, and my skills/ experience (FYI, I received offer from another company at or better than this salary). Edrie asked my current zip code(out of state), and said, "WOW, your cost of living is really high!! Based on that and my online calculator, you should be content with $xx,xxx" This was insulting. That salary she quoted was at an entry level person, I have 15 years experience. I pointed out that I don't live in that wealthy zip code (few do!!), only work there. She was pretty rude, trying to set the stage for a lousy salary from Nautilus. I was polite, and did not want to get into salary negotiations, so just gave a range when pressed.
