Pergunta de entrevista da empresa Empyrean Benefit Solutions

What was the one thing they asked me? The most significant "ask" was to develop a full web application as a coding challenge, which was estimated to take up to ten days to complete. This wasn't a quick take-home test; it required a substantial investment of time and effort to build a stripped-down version of PowerPoint, including accommodations for "extra ideas for functionality" as specified in the requirements. The expectation was that I would present and discuss this application, covering its architecture, design considerations, and challenges faced, during my final interview.

My "answer" to the request for the web application was to diligently complete and submit the coding challenge, which, as requested, involved building a comprehensive, stripped-down version of PowerPoint. This took the full ten days allotted, and I included the requested "extra ideas for functionality" along with a detailed presentation outlining the architecture, design choices, and challenges faced. The expectation was that I would present and discuss this work during the final interview. However, the irony is that despite this significant effort, the application was never actually reviewed or discussed during my final interview. So, while I provided my "answer" in the form of a fully developed web app and presentation, it was ultimately not engaged with by the interviewer.
