      Entrevista

      The interview process began with an initial HR pre-screen, followed by a panel interview with the frontend manager and a senior frontend developer. After these initial stages, a technical coding challenge was issued. This challenge was quite extensive, requiring approximately ten days to complete a comprehensive web application and accompanying presentation. I was explicitly told I would present and discuss this work in the next interview round and, if I was successful there, the final interview would be with the VP of engineering. However, despite the significant effort invested, the coding challenge was never reviewed. In my next interview, I did not meet with other developers, instead I met with a VP (Jason), and in that meeting, there was no discussion or even acknowledgment of the code or presentation I submitted. When I proactively offered to discuss it, the VP seemed unfamiliar with the challenge's existence. The questions asked were general and backend-focused, completely disconnected from the frontend role and the prior technical assessment. This felt like a significant disregard for the time and effort I put into the required assignment. I had prepared to go into a code review, but was then asked definitions out of a text book. I understand why they did not offer me the role as I did not answer these questions very well (at all). Following the final interview, I received a standard rejection notice (I was not surprised). When I later sent a detailed email providing constructive feedback on the interview process, specifically highlighting the unreviewed coding challenge, the response I received was a generic, boilerplate email, almost identical to the initial rejection notice. This further compounded the disappointment and inconsistency felt throughout the process.

      What was the one thing they asked me? The most significant "ask" was to develop a full web application as a coding challenge, which was estimated to take up to ten days to complete. This wasn't a quick take-home test; it required a substantial investment of time and effort to build a stripped-down version of PowerPoint, including accommodations for "extra ideas for functionality" as specified in the requirements. The expectation was that I would present and discuss this application, covering its architecture, design considerations, and challenges faced, during my final interview.
