This was a followup to the which 1 statement would you choose. CF alone does not show how much debt, or how leveraged a business is. Essentially you're missing the liabilities part of the balance sheet. Cash flow would show only part of the picture--such as debt repayment but not a business' total liabilities. Debt is important in lending due to factors such as covenant agreements.
