One phone interview and then a long day at the office in Chicago. Spoke with about 10 different professionals. The phone interview was about 45 minutes and very fit-based. No technical questions for this part. The on-site interview was also very fit-based with the sales & trading desk. It was clear that they were looking for someone who is a team player, flexible, smart, and easy to get along with. A couple of bankers (not on the trading desk) that I spoke with had different priorities. They were focused on technical knowledge as it relates to accounting. I didn't get a single question about bonds. Heck... I've had equity trading interviews that where I was asked more questions about bonds. All-in-all, the on-site interview lasted about 4-5 hours. No breaks.
