Initial brief telephone interview with hiring manager followed by invitation for site interview. Site interview consisted of hiring manager and two other managers asking behavioral based questions for approximately 2 hours. Afterwards, taken to nice restaurant for lunch. Plant walkthrough after lunch followed by brief discussion with HR manager. Contacted a few days after site visit by hiring manager wanting to discuss salary expectations. Discovered salary was capped and research revealed range to be below market value for the position, geographic location, and candidate experience/qualifications. Hiring manager was unable to obtain approval to adjust range accordingly resulting in a verbal impasse.
