I went through three interviews and was pretty far along in the process. When I would ask for updates I was told that I was still in the running and the recruiter even went so far as to say that she would send along benefit information as I was waiting for a decision. After that call, there was radio silence. I had been told I would be given an update by a certain date and didn't hear anything even after I followed up again. I was in late stage consideration for other roles and was delaying the process there as I was interested in this position and had been lead to believe the feeling was mutual. Then two days later I received a generic, sent from an automated system reply that they were happy to have received my application but we're not interested. This is normal for early stage applications, but I've never experienced such a lack of consideration and communication so late in the process. It was extremely rude and made me happy I didn't receive the role. I don't think it speaks well to the company.
