I received an invitation for an interview. After investing a considerable amount of time preparing as you usually would, I received an email by the interviewer 45 minutes beforehand to cancel as they were sick. Fine I thought, frustrating but can’t be helped. That was until the interview was rescheduled to a new day and time… I waited in the online lobby ahead of the interview time and waited there for 15-20 minutes past the interview time. Nobody entered and when I emailed to ask what was happening.. I was surprisingly told that apparently the interviewer was also waiting for that long (even though they didn’t call/email to ask why I wasn’t there) and wondered where I was. After some blame on technology, I quickly became frustrated and gave up. Third time lucky? I was emailed by the interviewer tagging another interviewer to ask to reschedule directly with me… again. And guess what, no response since! I’m not calling the recruiter a liar by any means, but after the messy two/three attempts at scheduling a call, there isn’t a great track record here already and there are many faults which could’ve been avoided. I won’t be wasting anymore of my valuable time in preparing for an interview here as it seems candidates aren’t respected even in the early stages.
