I completed an initial recruiter screen for the Associate Director role and was then invited to a panel interview with members of the team. The panel itself was thoughtful and substantive, with questions focused on communications strategy, leadership style, narrative work, and managing competing priorities. However, the follow-up process was poor. After investing significant time in preparation and engaging seriously with the process, I did not receive a clear outcome or timely communication. For a communications and advocacy organization, the lack of candidate communication was disappointing and undermined the professionalism of the overall experience.

Spoke with members of the team, then the Executive Director. Was given a design prompt which I felt lacked enough context to understand what they were looking for. Everyone was nice and professional though.

In the interview process for the non-profit, I first submitted my resume and was then contacted for a phone interview. After passing that, I was invited to a virtual or in-person panel interview with key team members and sometimes board members. The focus was on my skills and how well I aligned with their mission. I was also asked to demonstrate my understanding of the field or complete a task relevant to the job
