I did 5 interviews - first call with hiring manager, first coding interview, second coding interview, system design and HR. Most of time, the process was very professional and the interviewers were very kind. I have two main concerns about the process - first, they asked me my salary expectations only in the last HR session, which ended to be more than what they wanted to give (In my opinion, my expectations were very fair and suited my experience. I ended up getting such offers from other companies). Second, they ended up not moving forward to an offer with me, which is fair of course, but I asked for a feedback and never got one. After putting an effort in a 6- weeks long process with them, this is very disappointing and not professional.

I wanted to share feedback regarding my recent interview for the Senior Software Engineer position at Base44. Unfortunately, I experienced several significant issues during the process: 1. I was informed by email the day before the interview that I would receive the coding assignment 15–30 minutes before the start of the interview, so I could prepare my environment and understand the requirements. In reality, I did not receive the email on time, and the interview began without the assignment. I only received the assignment via email at 9:30 PM that same day. 2. The first part of the interview was wasted on understanding the assignment and setting up the environment, and the interviewer was unaware that I was supposed to receive the assignment in advance. 3. During the interview, there was pressure to use AI to solve the task, but it was unclear how I was supposed to demonstrate my thought process or show the solution properly. 4. As a result of the confusion, I was only able to complete 2 out of 5 stages of the assignment. 5. Despite the interviewer’s experience, they were unfamiliar with the company where I was interviewing (Base44), which caused additional confusion. 6. The following day, I received a rejection without any apology or explanation for the disorganized process. I believe that a company like Base44, and especially one under Wix, should ensure a more professional and structured interview process.
