The process took about 2 weeks. There was an initial interview with the Marketing Director in which I was asked about my background, what I knew about marketing, and reasons for applying.
I was then asked to complete a design and content writing brief, which was followed by a 2nd interview which heavily focused on competency-based/STAR approach questions, with marketing-specific questions too. Overall, I thought the interview process went well and the managers made me feel at ease.
However, I noticed that the brief was not discussed in-depth during the 2nd interview. I did not get an offer but I completely understand this based on the specific task requirements in the role, and my responses for competency-based scenarios.
I found this vacancy through a university portal and it was advertised for graduates who are looking to expand their skills and experience. When I got informed of the outcome, I was a little confused when they said they preferred someone with senior-level experience, which I thought should have had more clarity from the beginning, therefore I questioned why I was shortlisted in the first place.
