I applied online and was contacted the next day. I was asked to complete a very comprehemsive questionnaire ahead of the first interview. It covered qualifications and experience relevant to the position, as well as my personal and religious alignment with the organisation's mandate and values.
My preliminary interview with a US-based HR officer basically covered my remuneration expectations and answered none of my own initial questions about the organisation or position.
My second interview was a panel telecon with participants from three different locations. I was asked to prepare a presentation based on the current strategy which i presented in the first few minutes to the panel. Once again, between all of their questions and tge presentation, there was no time or opportunity for me to ask my own questions and for them to sell the organisation to me as desirable employer.
After that skype conference, one of the interviewers mistakenly typed into the Skype group about how much they liked another candidate! Instead of apologising, she tried to delete the message from the chat... which never works!
Two weeks and no word later, I emailed the HR officer asking for an update and received a standard response abiut how I hadn't bee selected. After so much effort on my part to respond to their requirements, I expected them to contact me instead of waiting for me to ask them.
