Recruiter contacted me via Linkedin, then did not follow up for 2 weeks when I expressed my potential interest. Finally when she scheduled a screening and then an interview - all the interviewers were Russians, 3 people at the same time, including HR. It was remote / video conf, they dialed in from St. Petersburg, Russia. Surprisingly, most questions were related to my current job, and there was a clear conflict of interest preventing me from going that route. Similarly, after the positive feedback from the 2nd interview, they asked me to do a PM exercise : "Please look through the task and let me know when you could have got back with solution. Do not hesitate to ask me if you have any questions about. Expected outcome is a product brief.

My response was as follows: this task is directly related to your company's product and my current company's product offering which puts me in a difficult situation. In addition, this task is related to your real product, and real / existing problems so I would not feel comfortable providing this type of free consulting and looking at your glassdoor reviews, I am not alone. I would definitely prefer to do a more generic product ideation exercise, and avoid any conflicts of interests. I also want to point out that you as a company contacted me with regards to this role, and I have not applied myself. I would be happy to speak with the hiring manager, who can also assess my skills and experience directly. " end of quote. The HR responded as if she did not understand anything, stating that they asked a very generic question :). To me it's a show-stopper. I did not follow up.
