Got a call from XDIN HR. Scheduled an interview with the XDIN manager the next day. No technical questions - just overall understanding of what I've been doing. I asked if I could work in the office rather than the customer onsite assignment as my previous experience was in aerospace rather than the current industry: automotive. Got a response to that as "don't worry about it".
The XDIN manager seemed to not care about it that much. But my lack of experience in automotive definitely had an impact on my assignments "at all times". They were just aiming for the money - not the trouble I would have to go through with the customer continuously. The customer would say I'm a consultant and am supposed to know what to do, while I didn't have any idea or lead on how to perform the tasks most of the time.
This whole trouble could have been prevented with a 3 months' experience with in-house projects at the XDIN office. They should have hired someone with an automotive background as their business is only at automotive industry.
After the interviews, the manager said "they really liked your personality". So, the reason to why I was hired wasn't actually my experience but my personality.
