Received an email saying they loved my CV and would like me to complete a task as the first step of the interview process. I thought this was a very unusual process for a first stage but this being a company I was really interested in, I saw it as an opportunity. I completed the task and sent it via a link which would expire as I am uncomfortable like others that have reported here, about sending personal work. I didn't hear a response for over a week and chased. Eventually received a reply, stating that they had proceeded with other candidates that had more direct experience. I was absolutely disgusted and disheartened at this after spending over a week working on a task, with some days over 8 hours of work. None of the feedback was in reference to the task and I felt like they had made an excuse. I get the impression that this company creates fake jobs in a way to get free ideas and work sent to them.
