Interview process consists of three or more rounds. First round with HR, Second round take home Assignment manual testing task and automation coding task. Next round will be technical interview with three engineers

It started after the summer break as people came back to offices. First stage was with the recruiter, which are always rough because you get insight into the company but not exact details about where your experience fits into a position. Then, I got an assignment which asked me for some test cases and an optional automation script. This was done without talking to anyone in engineering or QA. It was not good enough, it felt rushed but it had enough details where you can see the mindset of how someone may test. I got rejected. I always felt that doing an assignment without talking to anyone from the team you may be working with leads to a lot of misplaced expectations and creates pressure for candidates. I feel I have to do something a certain way without understanding a preference because different people have different standards. Not too bitter about the loss, seeing as how this position is not filled to this date.
