Entrevista
Zalando is notorious for taking too long for interviews and mine was no exception. My interview process started one month late after I contacted the recruiter on many occasions to enquire on my application status.
I was then sent a codility challenge in which there were 3 tasks of "easy" to "medium" level and they provided 1.5 hours for the same. I completed all three tasks with 100% result.
I followed up with the recruiter and she informed me that I qualify for next tech interview rounds since my submission was well done and will soon receive scheduling details. However, I never heard back from her even after following up numerous times! I don't understand how difficult it is to reply to a candidate who is enquiring? They treat candidates' time with no respect and it is really frustrating. I understand when companies don't contact you in the first place, however, Zalando is the first company who neglects candidates after their interview process has started and most of all, ignores candidates who perform well on their interviews.
However, I believe that a huge part of the blame goes to recruiters that work at Zalando. I don't know if it is the fact that one recruiter is handling many candidates or is it because the recruiter is not efficient in doing her work but I would advice anyone who is considering to Zalando to not apply to a position whose recruiter in charge handles more than one department.
I applied online. The process took two months. one online interview. The recruiter call was good. Standard questions related to career.

Had a FANG-style interview with three rounds: a live coding session (sliding window problem), a system design interview focused on an e-commerce platform, and a behavioral round. The process was structured and engaging, testing both technical depth and communication skills. Overall, a great learning experience that felt fair and well-balanced.
