Process:
I went through an exhaustive interview process consisting of 12 one-hour interviews with approximately 30 different employees across all levels of the organization. The entire process spanned over two months.
Pros:
- Opportunity to meet various team members and understand the company structure
- Some interesting professional discussions with certain team members
Cons:
- Long periods of silence despite direct requests for updates
- The recruiter promised to get answers to my specific questions from team members but never followed through
- After investing so much time in this extensive process, I received a cold, template rejection email with no personalized feedback
- Complete lack of respect for candidates' time and emotional investment in the process
I was genuinely stunned that a AAA company of this caliber would treat senior candidates this way. The experience was so disappointing that it made me question whether I want to continue in the gaming industry at all. The template rejection after 12 interviews and approximately 12+ hours of my time was not only disrespectful but showed a fundamental problem with the company's values.
Most disappointing was that the team members never responded to my specific questions that the recruiter promised to pass along. This level of disregard speaks volumes about the internal communication and respect for others within the organization.
Advice to candidates:
The interview process likely reflects the actual work culture. If you experience poor communication, lack of follow-through, and general disrespect during interviews, expect the same if hired. In retrospect, I'm relieved they chose another candidate, as this process revealed serious organizational issues that would have made working there challenging.
