While the company uses an agency to vet the applicants, the agency at least communicated (albeit poorly) of the process structure and timelines,
The first interview takes place at the Zwilling head office in Markham,ON, where you meet the person who will eventually become your boss. The interview was pretty standard and became quite candid towards the end; where personal stories of the company and its struggles emerged. I was given a timeline for training, asked if relocated to Niagara for a couple weeks of training was doable. I was given and idea of the tasks and projects soon to be deligated to me and all seemed well in order.
The last step, was a simple meeting with the company President. I received a personal email from the Initial interviwer, a day prior, to make sure I talked about certain points and skill sets.
The meeting with the president was brief, he too expressed interest and asked how soon I could begin- immediately of course. However due to his travel schedule the decision would be delayed approx. one week. (At this point only 2 weeks had passed, from the initial call from the agency.)
Now- 5 weeks later- over 11 unanswered emails, 9 non-replied voicemail messages- and an agency who to this very day states; “you’re still their number one choice, they just want to interview a couple more to ensure you are the perfect fit.” The job posting has been reposted twice! Yet; not the president, the initial interviewer or Human Resources have replied to ANY of my inquiries to the status of my interview process! The agency, has given up on contacting them. The agency was even telling me to move on, “this is not a company to work for, if they cannot even reply to your repeated requests for updates!”
I will still reply, via email and direct calls, to both the agency and the company executive, weekly. In the attempt to even be told- “Position has been filled.” Maybe at that point I can express how u professional and such poor communication etiquette has transpired during this process!
