Hiring manager was open in talking about challenges facing the company, as well as the direction the company was heading. The plan was to follow up the phone interview with a face-to-face interview. I subsequently didn't get called in for a face-to-face, or the job, because they redefined the job scope and I didn't meet one of the core requirements.
