There were 3 rounds of interviews with HR and peers in the same department. The questions were focused on past experience and technical applications. Never heard back from the recruiter or peers after following up. They sent a generic rejection email about 3 months later.

Initially I thought the interviewer was likable and someone who would be good to work with. However, after a strange interview process where they really didn't ask much about my skills or experience, I realized that this new leadership team they have assembled is looking for a churn and burn out of who they hire. I've seen this many times before - you bring in some ringer execs who make some waves and burn out everyone under them so they can quickly get to a sizable bonus and everyone else is just left with a destroyed work life balance and forced to find another job. In this labor environment, I'm shocked that HR leaders aren't fired more often when the culture of the company is so unattractive.
