I had my first round of interviews with the HR representative. The HR person was friendly. However, I was surprised that technical questions were asked in this initial interview.
I’m confident in my ability to perform well in this role, as I have worked as a Power BI consultant in my previous position, my skill set is a good fit for the role. However, the technical questions seemed to focus more on understanding specific terminologies rather than assessing practical skills or actual work experience. When I asked the HR representative to clarify a couple of questions to better understand their intent, I was unable to get further elaboration. Some of the terms used weren’t common in standard Power BI discussions, which made it harder to provide accurate responses.
At the end of the interview, the HR representative informed me that I was not qualified for the position.
