i did project on research field using matlab 7 as tool. In this product document images present in news papers, boards on roads, all will be in low resolution.We present a method texture based to detection and extraction of text blocks from document images. The proposed method uses wavelet coefficients to identify potential text blocks. Later texture features [a h v d] are computed on image blocks to identify and segment text regions in the image. The texture features are then obtained on every 50X50 block of the processed image and potential text blocks are identified using newly defined discriminate functions. Further, the detected text blocks are merged and refined to extract text regions.
