In 2015, AlloSource lost a valued member of our Allofamily, Daniel Tjandra. Daniel worked at AlloSource for seven years and was our Warehouse Supervisor. His unwavering commitment to honor the gift of human tissue donation was second only to his infectious positive attitude toward everyone in the organization. His passion for quality, integrity and teamwork helped to motivate us to fulfill our mission each and every day. He is greatly missed. To memorialize Daniel and to highlight an employee who exhibits similar qualities, AlloSource will grant the Daniel Tjandra Award to an employee who, like Daniel, unwaveringly embodies the AlloSource mission. Employees can nominate one (1) coworker by demonstrating how the person exemplifies our mission. AlloSource will proudly present this year's Daniel Tjandra Award winner at our annual Awards of Excellence December 12th.
Sometimes we just like to have fun. With the transition from baseball season to football season, we invited everyone to show their “team spirit” on Sports Day.
On behalf of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and the Engagement Champion Council, to align with our cultural belief of “Honor All” and continue to become more inclusive ,we recently held our second annual AlloSource Summer Passport to Collaboration event. This event was a fantastic way to learn about other departments, break down silos and build the trust necessary to collaborate across departments and advance as a unified Team AlloSource. This gave us all a chance to know more members of Team AlloSource and feel more connected to AlloSource and engage in our important, mission driven work. Folks had an opportunity to move from station to station, meet and talk with Team AlloSource members from other teams and share what we do, learn what each department does and learn about specific successes and projects that are ongoing this year! We had Food Trucks and other treats and food available free of charge to every member of Team AlloSource!
Weather cooperated at our employee appreciation pancake breakfast event! Some folks started their shift with pancakes, and others ended their shift with pancakes. Regardless, everyone left the parking lot full!
AlloSource doesn’t just talk about Safety, we are dedicated to it…in action. We recently held Safety Week, the first of what will be an annual event going forward. Employees signed a large vinyl banner to recommit to another year of safe work practices and spaces. We’re going to reuse this banner every year until it’s full of signatures- think Stanley Cup style! There were great events and announcements happening all week to promote health, safety, and wellness. On Tuesday and Friday, at the start of shifts, we had donuts or bagels as a small celebration for the huge turnaround of our OSHA Rolling Rate- we dropped from 5.42 down to 4.79 in March! That is the largest one-month drop in over 2 years. We raffled off some great prizes announcing winners throughout the week. There was an announcement during the week detailing the rollout of the Safety Process Improvement program. We had a great week with a fun focus on maintaining a safe and healthy workplace! Huge kudos to Health and Safety Lead Hardy Coffman for planning and executing an impressive Safety Week here at AlloSource.
