CDM Smith is pleased to announce that water reuse regulatory expert, Karthik Kumarasamy, PhD, PE joined the firm as an environmental engineer. With 14 years of experience in drinking water, wastewater, water reuse, regulatory compliance, permitting and modeling, Dr. Kumarasamy will apply his advanced knowledge in his new technical role at CDM Smith.
CDM Smith welcomes Anita Bush, PE, CPM to the firm’s program services group as a management specialist based in Reno, Nevada. Bush has an extensive background in managing and maintaining transportation infrastructure, and brings 26 years of experience in structural engineering, roadway design, pavement preservation and maintenance, asset management and materials management. In her new role, Bush will leverage her wide-ranging expertise to manage key programs for clients and provide technical guidance.
CDM Smith donated $45,000 to two charities as part of the firm’s Employee Wellness Program and commitment to giving back. A $25,000 donation was made to Strides for Life Colon Cancer Foundation and a $20,000 donation was made to the American Diabetes Association to support their missions of protecting our communities against life threatening medical ailments.
CDM Smith welcomes Jesse Loftin, PE to the firm as a transportation engineer and roadway discipline leader. Loftin has nearly two decades of transportation experience including design of roadways, bridges, traffic controls, drainage, stormwater pollution prevention plans and retaining walls. A key addition to our design team, Loftin will play an important role in growing the firm’s transportation business and technical capabilities for projects in the western U.S.
CDM Smith is pleased to announce the addition of Christopher J. Karpathy as Senior Vice President and incoming Chief Legal Counsel for the firm. Karpathy will be taking the reins from Chief Legal Counsel Mario Marcaccio, who is retiring after 44 years of exceptional service to the firm.
CDM Smith welcomes Abraham Carvajal to the firm as a client service leader and project manager. Carvajal brings 10 years of industry experience in sustainable water management and advanced water treatment solutions in the mining, industrial, health and energy, and oil and gas industries. In his new role, he will help grow CDM Smith’s business in the water reuse and desalination market.
CDM Smith welcomes Justin Feek as a management specialist and long-range transportation planning discipline leader. With 20 years of experience, Feek offers expertise in performance-based planning, developing and managing delivery of capital improvement plans, transportation improvement programs, transportation area studies, corridor studies, multimodal planning, MPO administration, grant application development, as well as stakeholder and public outreach.
CDM Smith and its employees are proud to donate $5,860 to the Connecticut Children’s Foundation through our annual intern T-shirt fundraiser. The fundraiser invites our summer interns to create unique and innovative apparel designs that embody the firm’s work. The winning design is made available for employee purchase with all profits donated to a charity of the winning intern’s choice.
