New blog: Criminal Gangs Go Digital – A Challenge for Law Enforcement🚨 Criminal gangs aren’t just on the streets anymore. They’re online – recruiting new members, trafficking drugs and weapons, and running scams on the dark web, social media and messaging apps. Law enforcement needs investigative analytics tools to keep up. Our latest blog explores how gangs exploit online platforms for recruitment, coordination and profit – and how decision intelligence platforms help law enforcement to stay ahead.
Does encryption make criminals sleep better at night, knowing their crimes are untraceable? The ability to plan, execute and commit crimes under encryption makes things easier for criminals - and much harder for investigators, as the trail goes cold. Or does it🤔? Let’s zoom in on a real-world scenario🔎: An intelligence team is investigating an extortion ring operating over encrypted messaging apps. End-to-end encryption. No access to message content. No “back door.” At first glance, it seems like a dead end. But here’s the twist: The investigators aren’t chasing the hidden messages - they’re chasing the metadata💡. 🔹Who’s talking to whom? 🔹When, and how often? 🔹From where? 🔹Who’s sending payments - and where is the money flowing? These signals are valuable tracks for investigators to correlate, layer across networks, and map out the structure behind encryption. This is how patterns emerge. This is how leads appear. And that’s how the invisible becomes visible👀. That's what we call Eliminate the Unknown. So, when the message is hidden, it doesn’t necessarily mean the clues are gone too. Investigating isn’t about breaking encryption - it’s about working with the clues left behind.
Maria Siali | Asset Software Manager, Cyprus “Volunteering reminds me that impact does not have to be grand – it just has to be genuine. Mentoring students allowed me to share knowledge, build confidence, and spark curiosity about their future. It is in those small, human moments that we create lasting change and invest in a better tomorrow.”
[BLOG] Unraveling Complex Crimes with Knowledge Graph Software for Police 🔍 Today’s criminals operate in sophisticated networks that span borders, jurisdictions and digital platforms. Traditional investigative tools struggle to connect the dots. Knowledge graph software is changing the game for law enforcement agencies worldwide. By visualizing connections between people, places, events and evidence in real-time, investigators can: ✅ Identify hidden links between suspects and assets ✅ Detect patterns across disconnected data sources ✅ Accelerate investigations with relationship-first querying ✅ Transform fragmented intelligence into actionable insights 💡 Discover how the NEXYTE decision intelligence platform combines advanced knowledge graph technology with machine learning, entity resolution and AI-powered enrichments to transform investigations:
✨We had SPARKS in our Israel office! SPARKS is a national Israeli educational program that brings eye-level technology into the classroom. And we are proud to be the first to take SPARKS beyond Israel, expanding into schools in Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Brazil – and even India! After taking SPARKS around the world, bringing it to our own office felt like the natural next step. We invited Cognyters’ kids for a special day of learning, creativity and curiosity, inspired by our global CSR mission: Safer world for next generations. The day opened with a warm welcome from our CEO Elad Sharon and CPO Rini Karlin. They spoke about curiosity, learning, and the importance of asking questions – at any age. From there, our young visitors chose from a range of interactive workshops led by Cognyters, diving into topics like AI, Fake News, Technological Revolutions, Dark Web and more. They listened, asked thoughtful questions, and stayed fully engaged from start to finish. It was one of those days that reminded us why we do what we do. Thanks to everyone who helped make this day happen!
🚨It’s not every day that we are invited to join a discussion that can shape the future of global policing. The webinar “TECHNOLOGY: Future Trends”, hosted by INTERPOL’s Innovation Centre, gathered law enforcement officers from around the world to explore how emerging technologies are transforming investigations – creating new opportunities while also posing significant challenges. From Cognyte, Omer Frenkel, Director of our Decision Intelligence platform, shared actionable insights on the evolving role of technology in intelligence and investigations, grounded in his extensive field experience💡.
