February 1 marks the start of Black History Month. The 2025 Black History Month theme is African Americans and Labor. As described by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH), this year’s theme “focuses on the various and profound ways that work and working of all kinds – free and unfree, skilled, and unskilled, vocational and voluntary – intersect with the collective experiences of Black people. On December 3rd, we celebrate #InternationalDayofPersonswithDisabilities. Established by the UN in 1992, this day aims to promote understanding and support for the dignity, rights, and well-being of persons with disabilities. One of the core groups of individuals we serve at CSG are those diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Each individual we care for has their own unique qualities that make them part of the beautiful fabric of our society. Our goal is to help them live full, independent lives, while also being active members of their communities and promoting inclusion for all.
