Towards the 4th Generation University — a collaboration between Eindhoven University of Technology and Elsevier has been named a finalist for the Thought Leadership for Tomorrow “Industry Catalyst” award. The report outlines a new model for higher education, positioning universities as orchestrators of regional innovation ecosystems, working in partnership with government, industry and civil society to deliver meaningful impact in their communities. Following the report, twelve leading universities and Elsevier founded the 4th Generation University Community to share expertise and further develop indicators of societal and economic impact. Over 40 universities from around the world have already joined, and the number is growing rapidly. This recognition reflects a collective effort to shape more connected and impactful models for higher education.
