We’re super excited to introduce our 50th nursery, N Blackheath! Nestled in the Blackheath conservation area, our nursery is set within a beautifully restored, locally listed former sorting office, just a stone’s throw from Blackheath train station and the heart of the village. Step inside and you’ll find eight spacious playrooms, thoughtfully designed to inspire curiosity and ignite a love of learning through our N Curriculum. The dedicated atelier brings our N Extras to life, from messy play to cooking and baking, where children can express themselves freely. 🎨 Outdoors, the generous garden, featuring newly planted trees, has been carefully landscaped to include a dedicated baby zone and a messy play area, perfect for Forest School-inspired learning and open-ended exploration. 🌳 At our N Café, the aroma of fresh coffee and warm pastries fills the air, creating a calm and welcoming space for families to start the day. This International Men’s Day, we’re celebrating the men at N who are helping to redefine what early years education looks like. Representation is crucial in shaping how children see the world and who they believe they can become. 🌍 Hear first-hand from Melvyn and Doug about their journeys at N and the difference they’re making in the sector.
Today we celebrate an incredible moment: N is now home to 50 nurseries across the UK. 🎉 This achievement is a celebration of every child who has joined our family, every parent and carer who has walked through our doors, and every educator who pours their heart into what they do each day. ❤️ Our vision has always been simple: to create nurseries that feel like a home-from-home, while providing the highest-quality, most-loved early years education. That means a bespoke curriculum that sparks curiosity, meals that nourish, and a community where families feel supported. Reaching this milestone takes us back to where it all began in 2017, when we set out to rethink early years education. With 50 nurseries now open, our purpose feels clearer than ever. We remain dedicated to creating exceptional early years experiences that become part of each child’s story long after their time with us.
Big changes are coming to how Ofsted evaluates education and care across the UK. The new 2025 framework promises greater transparency, balance, and a stronger focus on inclusion. 🤍 Our latest article explores what these updates mean for families, educators, and early years providers, and how they could shape a more supportive and collaborative future for education.
This week, we’re celebrating the incredible work of War Child! ❤️ Since partnering with War Child UK in 2017, we’ve been working together to support the education of children living in war zones. Through this partnership, we help provide access to safe learning spaces, giving children the chance to play, learn and thrive, even in the most challenging circumstances. 🌍 At N, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. This week, our nurseries are exploring themes of kindness, empathy and peace, while coming together to raise awareness and funds for this vital cause. We’re so proud to stand alongside War Child UK, supporting brighter futures for children around the world. ✨
Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do at N. Some of the best ideas are born when we support and inspire one another. It’s in how we listen to one another, how we collaborate, how we celebrate wins, big or small, and, most importantly, how we support each other through challenges. We know that working with young children takes superhero levels of energy, patience and enthusiasm. That’s why we’re committed to supporting our teams every step of the way, from freshly prepared, nutritious lunches to wellbeing initiatives that help our team recharge and connect. With over 90% of our team members being women, we’re committed to ensuring every woman at N feels supported and empowered, especially through life’s natural transitions, like perimenopause and menopause. In 2021, we introduced a brand-new policy dedicated to menopause. Alongside this, we’ve put practical measures in place, such as flexible breaks, temperature control, and open, stigma-free conversations, to ensure our team feels supported and able to thrive at work. It’s this commitment to care and inclusion that helped us earn recognition as one of the Best Workplaces in the UK for Women (Super Large category) in 2025. 👉 Discover more how we’re supporting women through menopause and building a more inclusive workplace for all.
