Sutter’s CPMC Davies Campus Recognized Among U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 Best Nursing Homes/Skilled Nursing for Short-Term Rehabilitation
In healthcare, complexity is part of every day. But where others see obstacles, Sutter Health teams see opportunities – to simplify, improve and innovate. That mindset was on full display during Sutter’s second annual Innovation Challenge, where staff and clinicians across the system turned everyday frustrations into bold ideas to make care simpler, faster and better.
Fifteen Sutter hospitals earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit focused on patient safety. This recognition is awarded to hospitals for their exceptional performance in patient safety and quality of care.
Sutter Health’s $1 billion East Bay expansion—anchored by the new 12-acre Sutter Emeryville Yards—advances the medical group’s ongoing growth in the region. The site will include a state-of-the-art ambulatory care campus and a 200-bed hospital, with outpatient services slated to open in 2028 and the hospital expected to welcome patients in 2032. Nearly 200 Sutter East Bay Medical Group clinicians are anticipated to staff the new facility.
Amid a statewide shortage of technologists, a powerful partnership is redefining the future of health care talent. Across Northern California, not-for-profit Sutter Health and Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts are demonstrating that collaboration - not competition - drives the creation of a sustainable, community-centered health care workforce.
Thanks to the generous support of Sutter Health and the Mills-Peninsula Hospital Foundation, this tuition-free program offers students rigorous classroom instruction in anatomy, physiology, math, physics, and radiographic science. In addition, students receive early and continuous hands-on clinical training. Upon completion, graduates are eligible to take the national board exam administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and, upon passing, are licensed to practice in California.
Our mission in motion! Team Sutter rocked the ride this past weekend to stand against gun violence and advocate for safer, healthier communities. As the premiere event sponsor this year, Team Sutter stepped up big for Rock the Ride Napa County — more than just a ride, it’s a movement to end gun violence through awareness and action. For the second year, we made a strong showing, riding, walking and rallying to support the cause.
Nursing Symposium 2025 Our 7th annual Nursing Symposium brought together more than 800 Sutter nurses and nurse colleagues from across Sutter Health. Nurses from all levels and care settings joined Sutter’s CEO and President Warner Thomas, Chief Nurse Officer Kat Holmes and other leaders for an inspiring day of speeches and breakout sessions. Attendees were actively engaged through interactive breakout sessions, poster presentations by authors, and department exhibits. The atmosphere was incredible as #TeamSutter fostered connections and collaboration! Nurses even had a special visit from our mascot, River!
