Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide high-quality, personalized care to individuals in their own residences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in home and community care, with a genuine desire to improve clients' quality of life through attentive support and assistance. As an In Home Caregiver, you will play a vital role in promoting independence, safety, and well-being for those you serve by delivering comprehensive care tailored to each individual's needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe changes in health status to report to healthcare professionals promptly.
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning in accordance with dietary restrictions and care plans.
• Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and ensure proper safety protocols are followed during transfers and mobility assistance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation for clients with dementia or developmental disabilities.
• Follow established care plans meticulously, documenting observations and activities to ensure continuity of care across shifts.

Skills

• Proven experience in home health, assisted living, or long-term care environments with knowledge of patient observation and monitoring techniques.
• Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and HIPAA compliance are highly desirable.
• Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
• Strong organizational skills for managing multiple clients’ needs while adhering to prescribed care plans.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively with clients’ families, healthcare teams, and social workers.
• Experience working in group homes or nursing facilities is an asset; understanding of resident’s rights and privacy regulations is essential.
