About the Position

The Shire of Ashburton are now accepting applications for our initial intake of Pool Lifeguards and Pool Assistants for the upcoming 2026/2027 Pool Season. Don’t miss this opportunity to join our team!

Do you have a Provide First Aid Certificate and a Bronze Medallion?

• We will provide you with Lifeguard training and you will be qualified as a Pool Lifeguard on successful completion of this*.

Only have a Provide First Aid Certificate?

• You can join us as a Pool Assistant, and we will provide you with training to obtain your Bronze Medallion*.

*To be eligible for this training through the Shire of Ashburton, you must be available to attend the course(s) on the dates offered to you.

Don’t have a Provide First Aid Certificate?

• Provide First Aid is a compulsory prerequisite for all our swimming pool-based positions. We do, however, continue to recruit as needed throughout the pool season, so we encourage you to obtain your First Aid qualification and then apply.
