The Children's Advocacy Center of NEPA is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) to join our multidisciplinary team serving children and adolescents impacted by abuse, neglect, violence, and trauma.

This position offers a unique opportunity to combine healthcare, advocacy, and forensic medicine while helping children and families begin their path toward healing.

No prior forensic or child abuse experience is required. We provide specialized training, mentorship, and opportunities to obtain Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) training for the right candidate.

Position Overview

The CRNP will provide medical evaluations and follow-up services for children and adolescents referred to the Children's Advocacy Center.

This role focuses on comprehensive assessment, family education, documentation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and forensic medical services when indicated.

Providers typically have four appointment blocks available each day, with an average of two to three patient evaluations daily. The schedule is intentionally designed to allow adequate time for thorough examinations, documentation, multidisciplinary consultation, and meaningful support for children and families.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations for children and adolescents referred to the Children's Advocacy Center
• Perform forensic medical examinations when indicated
• Develop treatment recommendations and coordinate referrals and follow-up care
• Document findings in accordance with medical and forensic best practices
• Participate in multidisciplinary case review and consultation
• Collaborate with victim advocates, therapists, forensic interviewers, child welfare professionals, law enforcement, and prosecutors
• Educate and support children and caregivers regarding medical findings and treatment recommendations
• Participate in shared on-call coverage for urgent examinations
• Maintain compliance with National Children's Alliance standards and clinical protocols

QualificationsRequired

• Current Pennsylvania CRNP license in good standing
• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner
• Ability to obtain all required background clearances
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Experience working with children, adolescents, families, or vulnerable populations
• Comfort interacting with and caring for pediatric patients
• Commitment to trauma-informed and child-centered care

Preferred

• Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP)
• Experience in family medicine, pediatrics, emergency medicine, urgent care, women's health, school-based health, behavioral health, or related clinical settings
• Experience serving children, adolescents, or families
• SANE training or forensic experience (not required)

Candidates without forensic experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Comprehensive training and mentorship will be provided.

Schedule & On-Call

• Full-time and part-time opportunities available
• Primarily weekday daytime schedule
• Shared on-call coverage consisting of approximately:
• Every other weekend
• Two weeknights per week
• Call-ins occur only for urgent examinations when needed
• Actual emergency examinations requiring an in-person response are infrequent

Compensation & BenefitsCompensation

$55–$70 per hour, based on experience, credentials, and relevant clinical background.

Additional consideration may be given to candidates with pediatric, emergency medicine, SANE, forensic, or child advocacy experience.
