The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Manager to lead health, safety and environmental initiatives at our Pakenham site.
Reporting to the Site Leader, this role is responsible for ensuring Patties Foods operates in full compliance with OH&S legislative and regulatory requirements while continuing to build and strengthen a positive safety culture across the site.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will partner closely with operational leaders, supervisors and employees to drive continuous improvement, risk reduction and safety capability across the business.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

• Lead the continued development and improvement of the site OH&S Management System
• Drive a proactive safety culture through coaching, engagement and visible leadership
• Partner with managers and supervisors to identify, assess and control workplace risks
• Ensure safe systems of work are understood and followed across the site
• Lead internal and external safety audits and manage corrective actions
• Maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies including WorkSafe
• Facilitate & conduct risk assessments, safety walks and incident investigations
• Support the development and implementation of environmental compliance systems
• Monitor and report on HSE performance, targets and KPI outcomes
• Coordinate OH&S committees, training initiatives and emergency preparedness programs
• Provide practical guidance and support to leaders and employees on WHS matters

About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Tertiary qualifications and/or significant experience in Occupational Health & Safety
• Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management and compliance requirements
• Experience within a manufacturing or food production environment, highly regarded
• Demonstrated experience leading safety initiatives and driving cultural change
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• A collaborative and practical approach to problem-solving
• Strong organisational & administrative skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Confidence working with leaders at all levels of the business
