We’re seeking a caring and flexible Assistant Teacher to join Chickadee. You'll support classrooms for toddlers to preschoolers, building strong connections. About the Role

At Chickadee, we teach through hands-on exploration and joyful play. As a float teacher, you’ll support multiple classrooms and age groups throughout the day. You’ll help foster a calm, safe, and loving environment where children can thrive emotionally, socially, and physically.

What We’re Looking For

• You love working with young children and understand each child’s unique needs.
• You’re kind, patient, and playful - ready to sing songs, read stories, and truly enjoy your day.
• You’re a team player who communicates openly and helps create a safe, caring space.
• You’re able to lift up to 30 pounds and get down to the children’s level throughout the day.
• You’re CPR & First Aid Certified, or willing to obtain.

Education & Experience

We welcome a range of backgrounds! Any of the following is helpful:

• BA/BS in Early Childhood Education (preferred but not required)
• AA/AS in Early Childhood or related field
• Child Development Associate (CDA)

Daily Responsibilities:

• Follow the lead teachers' instructions consistently within the classroom setting.
• Execute the planned activities as scheduled.
• Engage in play, singing, and reading sessions with children.
• Assist with diapering, mealtimes, and nap routines.
• Keep daily records of diapering, feeding, and sleeping activities.
• Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
• Communicate openly and warmly with families.
• Most importantly, cherish and enjoy your special moments with the children.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
