Descrição The local radiologist is one of AMICAS's favorite people -- so much so that the company is tying its future to its radiology friends. Formerly VitalWorks, AMICAS changed its name in 2005, when it sold off its Medical division (which provided software for doctors' offices and hospitals) to Cerner for about $100 million. The company has refocused entirely on developing medical image and information management software for radiology departments. Targeting ambulatory and acute care radiology markets, AMICAS offers radiology information systems, picture archiving and communications (PACS) systems, Web-based and wireless image and report distribution tools, and billing systems, among other products and services.
