Advanced Battery Technologies hopes to ride the rising wave of electric and hybrid-electric vehicles all the way to the bank. Its Wuxi ZQ subsidiary makes electric and hybrid-electric scooters, electric bicycles, motors, and accessories. Subsidiary ZQ Power-Tech makes rechargeable polymer lithium-ion batteries for use in cars, buses, cell phones, and other gear. Its batteries can be as thin as one-tenth of an inch or as large as 500 pounds (for commuter buses). ZQ Power-Tech also makes lamps used on miners' helmets, but most of its products are sold to OEMs for use in their finished goods. Customers for vehicle battery components have included Aiyingsi, ZAP, and Beijing Guoqiang Global Technology Development.
