AxleTech International wheels and deals in axle, brake, and suspension products. The company is a global manufacturer and supplier of such drivetrain systems and components for heavy duty commercial and military vehicles, as well as off-highway machines used in the agricultural, construction, material handling, and mining markets. They are also sold as aftermarket parts. AxleTech has manufacturing and distribution operations in the US, France, and Brazil. Formerly a division of Rockwell International (now ArvinMeritor), AxleTech was owned by private equity firm The Carlyle Group for three years. In late 2008 General Dynamics acquired AxleTech from Carlyle.
