Good Shepherd Health System provides medical-surgical care to patients throughout the Piney Woods region of northeastern Texas. Its flagship facility is Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, a more than 400-bed regional referral hospital providing specialty care in areas such as trauma, cardiology, neurology, and pulmonology. Good Shepherd also has small inpatient facilities in nearby Marshall and Linden, as well as a freestanding outpatient surgery center and several primary care Family Health Centers located throughout its service area. The hospital, which was established in 1935 as the 50-bed Gregg Memorial Hospital, is led by CEO Ed Banos.
