For Haw Par, healing ointments and aquarium parks are par for the course. Its health care subsidiaries make the Tiger Balm line of pain relief ointments and other over-the-counter remedies and health care products including the Kwan Loon line of pain relieving oils. The company also is involved in the leisure industry, operating two oceanariums (with a third planned) and a chain of bowling alleys in Malaysia. Haw Par also invests in land; its property portfolio includes commercial and industrial space in Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore. The family of chairman Wee Cho Yaw controls just over 20% of the company.
