The fortunes of Henderson Land Development have mirrored those of its chairman and founder, Hong Kong gazillionaire Lee Shau Kee. One of the region's largest developers, the company is engaged in the construction, project management, investment, and property management of large-scale commercial, residential, and industrial properties in Hong Kong and mainland China. It has developed such properties as the Beijing World Financial Centre (completed in 2008), mixed-use towers Shanghai Skycity, and Hong Kong's International Finance Centre. Henderson Land holds major stakes in developer Hong Kong Ferry, hotel owner Miramar Hotel, infrastructure investor Henderson Investment, and Hong Kong and China Gas.
