Fabless semiconductor company Integrated Silicon Solution, Inc. (ISSI) has the right acronyms for the manufacturing process. ISSI primarily makes SRAMs (static random-access memory) chips and DRAMs (dynamic RAM) chips, which account for most of its sales. Its chips are used in cars, computers, consumer electronics, cell phones, and telecommunications networking devices. ISSI sells its chips to dozens of top electronics manufacturers, such as Cisco, Garmin, Nokia Siemens Networks, Sony, and TRW Automotive, either directly or through distributors and contract manufacturers. The company spun off its other chip business as Giantec Semiconductor in 2010. Asia accounts for about two-thirds of sales.
