Interleukin Genetics counts on the high failure rate of crystal balls. The company develops genetic tests to identify individuals' chances of developing certain diseases. Its first commercial product, the PST, is a test for gum disease and is available in the US and Europe. The company also offers predictive tests for heart disease and general nutrition under the Gensona brand through its partnership with Alticor. Interleukin Genetics has also teamed with Alticor to develop nutritional and skin care products. Alticor subsidiary Pyxis Innovations controls 58% of the company.
