One of the largest automotive parts distributors in North America, Keystone Automotive Operations (KAO) keeps its logistics plan locked in place. The company provides more than 600 lines of automotive parts and accessories to some 17,000 customers (mostly small specialty retailers and installers) in the US, Canada, and about 40 other countries. KAO operates four warehouses and nearly 25 stocking facilities throughout North America, and customers can place their orders by phone or through the firm's website. KAO also runs more than 20 retail stores in Pennsylvania under the A&A Auto Parts banner. Investment firm Platinum Equity acquired a majority stake in KAO's parent, Keystone Automotive Holdings, in 2011.
