KP Company Limited (formerly King Power International Group) loves travelers with time and money to burn. The firm operates about 75 duty- and tax-free shops in six airports in Thailand. It sells duty-free liquor, cosmetics, luxury goods, and Thai-made souvenirs. The company is embroiled in a legal battle to prevent the eviction of its duty-free shop, opened in 2006, from the Suvarnabhumi airport. KP also runs Harrods shops in the Bangkok International Airport as part of a deal with the British retailer, as well as stores selling fashions from Fendi and Versace. Chairman and CEO Vichai Raksriaksorn and deputy chairman and CFO Aimon Raksriaksorn, along with other shareholders, took KP private in late-2003.
