It's not "always" an insult when somebody says "Your MAMA!". MAMA Group's primary business is live music. The company owns about eight music venues in London, including the legendary HMV Hammersmith Apollo. Its portfolio also includes the HMV Picture House in Edinburgh and the HMV Institute in Birmingham. MAMA Group additionally manages live music events such as the Lovebox festival and the High Voltage festival, among others; publishes music magazine The Fly; and provides record-production, project management, event design, and artist-management services. Established in 2002, MAMA Group is a subsidiary of entertainment retailer HMV Group, owner of more than 250 HMV stores throughout the UK and Ireland.
