Navini Networks makes wireless info come to you, not the building you are in. The company makes personal wireless broadband networking equipment used to connect telecom service providers with their subscribers wherever they may roam. Products include base station transmitters and modems using WiMAX (long distance wireless broadband) technology, as well as network management software. Navini Networks has offices in Dallas, a research and development center in Bangalore, India, and about 70 installations around the globe. Founded in 2000, the company has received venture funding from the likes of Lehman Brothers, Austin Ventures, and Sequoia Capital. Navini agreed in 2007 to be acquired by Cisco for $330 million.
