Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 1 semana. Fui entrevistado pela AGRO Cafe (Vancouver, BC) em mar. de 2008
Entrevista
I replied to a posting on Craigslist and was called the next day to schedule an interview even though I had no barista or cafe experience. I believe my interview was a couple days later. I entered the cafe, introduced myself to the people there (there were only 2), and was asked to take a seat while the manager collected his documents. While waiting I was able to read a little "about us" type pamphlet they had on all the tables (this helped a lot !since I really did not know much about the company at the time...their website was not in service when I went on it to do research). The interview was fairly straightforward. I was asked if I knew anything about the company, so I said that what I had just read, and what about it I admired (they serve organic, fair trade goods which I thought was cool). This led into me explaining my passion for fair trade and volunteering etc. I was then asked more basic questions about customer service, why I wanted to work there, what relevant skills I felt I had. At the end the manager mentioned that I would be working at a different branch of the cafe and that he would schedule me in for a training shift. I was never told outright that I got the job, but I showed up for my shift and stuck around for good so I guess I did ok.
I think their focus is on finding the right person more than the person with the right experience. I happened to click really well with the manager so I think I just got lucky. It seemed like anyone who didn't was not around for very long.

Be prepared to know something about fair trade or sustainability because that is an important part of the cafe.
